Many people in the Bible experienced intense emotional distress
- King David : deep despair, grief
- Elijah : fear; suicidal ideation after stress
- Jeremiah: loneliness, rejection, defeat
- King Saul : Tormented by an evil spirit, leading to deep unrest, sorrow, and an inability to sleep, often soothed by David’s music
- Job: devastation , loss
- Jonah: anger , wanting to die
- Jesus: anguish in gethsemane
- Martha : Showed distress and anxiety over household duties while Jesus visited
- Peter: Experienced deep regret and despair after denying Jesus.
