Hagar ( Genesis 16 )

Hagar the one who was visited by the Angel of the Lord, a manifestation of God himself. The one who spoke directly to God in the wilderness, A difficult place, a place where she felt lost and loneliness. A place where she had no sense of purpose, a place of isolation, a place full of heartache and heartbreak. A place where her direction was lost and unseen.
“But God” he met her at her wilderness and visited her to speak directly to her.
And he said….
“ Go back and submit “.
I will increase your descendants.
“ You are now pregnant “.
and you will give birth to a son and you shall call him Ishmael ( God Hears ).
For the Lord has heard of your misery.
Hagar in the mist of all her shame I can imagine looks up at God with tears in her eyes and says such beautiful words to him.
“ Beer Lahai Roi “ The God Who Sees Me.
After she said these beautiful words of freedom she got up and started to walk out of her wilderness.
Hagar turned around and went back on the same path to where she once was tormented , but she left knowing that she didn’t leave empty handed she left with a promise. A promise that set her free of all fear.
I don’t know who has landed in a wilderness.
God wants you to know that he has heard your cry of misery. He wants you to know that he has seen. Even in your suffering. Even when you have felt like an outcast. Even when you feel invisible and forgotten he wants you to know ……

I see ….. I hear and I respond to the distress naming myself El Roi “The God who Sees “
I will not leave you stranded in hopelessness and despair.
Don’t you know I work through “ Outcast “ I will redeem what every situation has been created by human failure, and I will demonstrate my ability to turn mistakes and difficult backgrounds into something beautiful.
I am aware of your struggle and I am faithful to my promises.
I am always present even when you feel lost forgotten, or have gone off plan.

Thus Saith The Lord
